Accessibility at Camellia

At Camellia we want all our experiences to be as inclusive as possible.

Garden Teahouse is fully accessible to wheelchair users and those with mobility issues.

Traditional Japanese houses are slightly raised above the ground, but we have a detachable ramp to help wheelchair users (and those with mobility issues) access the tea room.

Other smaller ramps are available to navigate the shallow steps from road to gate.

The tea rooms at Flower Teahouse are located up a flight of stairs and so are not accessible. The shared tea room at Flower Annex is accessible (the private room at Flower Annex is upstairs and so not accessible).

Tailoring your experience

If you are a wheelchair user, or have any other disabilities or special requirements, then please get in contact.

We will strive to be as flexible as possible to make your time in Kyoto and at Camellia Tea Ceremony a special one.

To talk to a member of our team about your needs or for further information get in touch by email (contact@camelliakyoto.com) or telephone (+81-70-5656-7808). All of our team speak English.
